I have used the Claricord. It is elastic, and takes SOME, but not ALL the
weight off the thumb. As such, you don't lose physical control of the
instrument, but the thumb is not stressed nearly as much as without the
Claricord. It hooks easily onto a standard thumbrest, but may not fit
oversized, adjustable, or plastic thumbrests. I now use a Kooiman Etude
thumbrest instead. It is not QUITE as effective as the Claricord, but it
has other good points.
