Dear Christy,

I find the Superial Classiques play about the same strength as Clarinet
V12's. Tom has a reed comparison chart on his website, along with a lot =
of
other information, and is extremely accessible and friendly to =
enquiries. I
met him via email when I enquired about Eb Soprano clarinet reeds. He =
lives
in Japan. All the reeds are sent to him there for a personal quality =
check
before they are distributed.

Really, they are in a class by themselves, and are attracting world =
class
players. The saxophone reeds seem to be taking off faster....I think =
that
market is a little more prone to experiment.

Check it all out, including "where to buy" at
http://www.superial.com/index.html

Best regards,

Chuck Currie

Chuck, I'm curious about these reeds. I looked on the =
Woodwind/Brasswind
site today and according to their reed strength chart, the Superials =
tend to
be stronger reeds than most of the others listed. Is this correct, in =
your
experience? I'm doubting the chart a bit, since the chart also suggests
that V-12's are a bit weaker in strength when compared to the regular =
Van
Doren reeds and I haven't found that to be true at all. Then again, =
it's
been awhile since I purchased a box of V-12's. =20
