OK, I just re-read Dan's book, having been privileged a couple of years ago
to see a draft. It went quite quickly, being the second time.
I think it's excellent; it reads very well, and has an atmosphere all of its
own. The plot is a bit simpler than it was before, which is to the good, I
think. The technical detail is fascinating -- anyone who's hesitating should
buy it.
Now, here's the question.
The circumstances in which I read it were in one sense highly appropriate --
in fact, they couldn't have been more appropriate!
But in another sense, some people might raise their eyebrows at my reading it
where I did.
So, where was I?
