2 weeks off is a wonderful thing... I just got back from Australia =
where I
went to record a concert at the Sydney Opera House. The performance was =
the
culmination of the tour of a number of local choirs (and a bunch of =
other
singers that wanted to travel to a foreign country). We had 400 singers =
and
100 in the orchestra performing the Berlioz Requiem... I don't think =
I've
ever heard a sound like that before- what a rush. Of course, while I =
was
recording, I was sitting there wishing I could be sitting in the =
clarinet
section listening from the inside to that wondrous sound... Oh well. =
While
a bit long-winded, the Berlioz has some truly sublime moments and some
absolutely bombastic moments. =20
