I find it helpful on my alto clarinet to turn the bocal slightly to the
right (counter clock-wise when viewed from above). That makes it an easier
reach for the right hand. The finger spreads on my Buffet are ok.

I once played an older Buffet alto clarinet that someone had modified
(butchered) by turning the key for the third finger (left hand) into an
open hole. Ouch. This was the same spot that the Lark in the Morning G
clarinet caused me pain.
