Dearest Dan (and Sue, too),

Sue was kind enough to forward your article to me and it was read with much
interest. My statement of where the spelling came from was not meant as a
defense, just as a statement of where I got the spelling. Cutting to the
chase though, I have ordered your (Dan's) version of the <"Partitta"> from
Gary Van Cott (who was kind enough to sell me his last copy ;?0 ) along
with the study score, and as stated, am most interested to go measure by
measure through my battered Kalmus edition and see where all these changes
have been made. Then, next spring at some point I hope to program your
edition and use bassett horns where the 3rd and 4th clarinets are usually
inserted.. At that time I would like to include your comments in my
program notes with your permission. Thanks to Dan and Sue for setting me
straight.

Nancy

P.S. Oh Dan, Sue's last name is spelled "Raycraft". :>}
