I would suggest using the Snavely "Saxophone Technique" published by
Kendor for the Scales. Very, very good book. The Hite Melodious +
Progressive Studies for Saxophone are another a series (book 1 and 2)
to get you going.
There are others for levels past that - let me know if ya need em.

As Ted Casher suggested, my first purchase for my sax studies were the
Pares
scales. Are there sax studies and etudes that are as well known and
appreciated as the Rose are for clarinet?
