The window in my Hammerschmidt is definitely narrower. In thousands the
opening at the back is .3260. Half way towards the tip it is .3950. At
the tip it is .452.All measurements were at the rail edge. The width
down inside the chamber are different due to modifications. The rail
itself: back -.084, middle .068, tip -.068. Vandoren V12, 3 - 3 1/2
work just fine with a little adjustment. At the butt end they measure
.460, At the tip .4520. Never measured things this way before.
Interesting that the tip opening of the mouthpiece and the width of the
reed tip are the same.

Does anyone know the width measurements of the other reed brands being
mentioned?
