I use it for two things: as a practice tool, to blow over the changes
of a tune I'm working on, particularly when the singer in our group is
using a non-standard key; and to make generic 3 part arrangements from
a melody line, which gives our horn section something to work from.
Sometimes these work better than others, but the chords are on the lead
sheets and we do a lot of arranging on the fly as the situation
demands, You can change the key for a printout to suit the available
instruments.

In all, it is an essential program for jazz musicians, but make sure
you have the peripherals you need such as sound card, multi-timbral
MIDI keyboard or a Mac with Quicktime.
