From Dan L: "Well, not having received or read the book is no reason
not to
write a glowing review. Why I know critics who often miss the
concerts they were expected to attend and then write how great
(or horrible) it was. Only on those rare occasions when the
concert is cancelled due to illness of the soloist is the critic
caught, but only if his review is negative. For a positive
review, it does not matter that he was home asleep. No one will
say anything if his/her comments were positive."

Actually, Dan, up here in God's country a newspaper music critic was
canned for just this a few years back. He punted the concert, wrote a
rave review about a world-class recorder player who had to cancel at
the last minute because his instrument bit the dust, and let the cat
out of the bag.

As he only received the equivalent of 2-3 concert tickets' worth per
printed review, I doubt the reviewer was too miffed. He might have had
a bit of difficulty reconstructing his personal dignity, though ...

Looking forward to buying and reading your book,

Anna in Reykjavík
