Yes, while the opportunities are rare, I think that being able to play up to C
would be a good skill to have. Some of the repertoire that requires the notes
you speak of (based on my memory, which may be faulty):

- Rossini "Introduction, Theme, and Variations" goes up to high A

- Martino "A Set For Clarinet" goes up to high B

- Spohr "Concerto No. 2" goes up to high C (other Spohr concerti are probably
up there as well)

- Strauss "Salome" goes up to high B

- Castelnuovo-Tedesco "Sonata" goes up to high A

- Weber "Concerto No. 2" goes up to high Bb or B

- Artie Shaw "Concerto" goes up to high C
