A change of topic...

A clarinet/saxophone reed making company has relocated in Jackson TN
after being in NYC for about 55 years. The eldest daughter has taken
over the company (French-American Reeds)and is seeking to expand. They
have mostly been an OEM manufacturer for beginning and intermediate
level reeds for others. Their original "My Masterpiece" reeds were
famous in the 1940-50's and their current jazz saxophone reeds are
fantastic.

The owner would like me to help her develop a professional style reed.
Her cane is wonderful and the machines use diamond cutters and are
quite accurate.

Now...I still have about 8 boxes of Morre reeds and enjoy them once in a
while. Do enough of you miss the Morre's to have a copy made available?
It costs $1200-1500 for a steel blank to be made, so if there was
interest I could investigate this with her. Also is there any consensus
of whether to copy the German or French styled Morre?

Dave
