I have recently become the owner of a medical condition " phalangial pouch".
This can happen to elderly males whereby the top end of the esophagus ceases
to be cylindrical and "pouches".
Playing wind instuments could have helped to create this problem and in my
case I have been singing & playing Clt/ sax for over five decades. The
problem is curable by a stapling operation which I shall be having soon. I
wonder if anyone out there has heard of the above... Is this what Artie Shaw
meant when asked why quitting the clarinet? he replied " The things you
have to do with you'r throat"
Best Wishes.... Harold Troughton Liverpool UK
