Warren, when I read complaints about off-topic threads --- especially
when the off-topic posts are made by someone such as Bill Hausmann who
has posted more useful information here about clarinets & music than the
complainer has even dreamed of posting himself or herself--- I can't
help imagining an exhibition at an art gallery:

A person enters the gallery and sees someone across the room. So the
person waves and says, "Hi, George, how's the stock market treating
you?"

The two people are about to spend 20 minuites discussing investment
strategies when the gallery owner interrupts them and demands that both
of them leave immediately. "After all, this is an art exhbit! not a
financial symposium! and other people are **joining your conversation**
instead of dicussing art! Of all the nerve! didn't you read the sign
out front? This is an art exhibit!"
