Well, the laquer is brass and it is only coming off the thumb rest,
octave key, and slightly on the alternate right index finger keys
(sorry, dont know the terminology). And yea it has VIII below the
thumb rest. The pads are actually in good condition (let a friend
test it w/ his mouthpiece); im not really sure why unless they were
replaced sometime recently before it was given to me. Seems they
should be dried out from being in utah for 60 years. Thank you guys
for all of your help :)
