Congratulations with your Conn, Bryan!

Your Conn 6M 'Naked Lady' or 'Lady Face' as we use to name it in the
Netherlands, is a great horn.
The 'M' series is made between serial nr. 260xxx and 834xxx and when you
have also VIII stamped by the serial nr. you have the 'top' Conn alto. I'm
playing a Conn 6M Alto from 1946 and I love it.
Yours with sn 289xxx is from 1940, and of course don't hesitate to play it.

For a mouthpiece you can look for an original Conn 'Steelay' or Brilhart
'Tonalin' or other Brilhart mpc's
When I was looking for a mouthpiece for my Conn I got the advice not to look
for a 'modern high baffle'
mpc but to search for an older 30's - 40's or 50's mpc.

Have a look at mpc Guru, Theo Wanne's website at:
http://www.mouthpieceheaven.com/ there'll you find
lots of mpc information.

Hope this helps.

All the best,

Aad Overeem
Netherlands

even play this thing?!? Other than the finger slide things on the low Bb/C
keys sticking a bit this sax is in really good condition. It was kept in an
attick after my aunt graduated. I'm not sure i wanna mess it up lol.
