Thank yall for all this helpful advise. I am still debating whether to continue doubling instruments or to pick one and stick with it. Hopefully the help yall have given will allow me to continue with both.

I've never heard of the Pares scales so I'm not completely sure what you were describing. Could you tell what they are? I probably should know this by now. Anyhow, what you discribed sounds like a good method to pratice switching instruments.
