Ted Casher here. I am a tenor/clar also. No problem switching back 'n
forth----it is simply a matter of mouthpieces cum embouchure. I use the
heavy top teeth/cushioned bottom lip/round hole embouchure as taught by the
late Bill Osseck @-----. The pointed
chin/smile clar embouchure is not friendly to tenor.

I am playing a :Pomarico Diamond Mellow clar mpce w/a 3 Vandoren reed or
Rigotti Gold. I just warped my Morgan Excalibur #7 EL, so I am back to a 7*
metal Link ontenor, w/ a #3 Java reed. This setup has worked for me for a
long time.

Good luck in your quest.

> I'm a tenor sax/ clarinet player and i was wondering if there is anyone
else who does the same. The reason is that i can switch from clarinet to
tenor in about a minute or so, but when i go from tenor back to clarinet it
usually takes about an hour of warming up to get used to the clarinet again.
My first instrument was clarinet (played for just over 8 years) and i've
only played the tenor for 1 1/2 years. Does it not make more sense that it
would be easier to go from tenor back to clarinet instead of the other way
around?
> P.S. Saxophone is sooo much easier than clarinet!! ;)
