Actually I can't recall George Bush ever saying that Saddam was involved in the
terrorist attacks of Septermber 11, 2001. Can you point me to a verifiable
source so I can look this up myself?

Interesting perspective. I won't speak for others, but for me, it was the
events of September 11, 2001 that made me feel less safe.

As for religious fundamentalism: you mention Christian fundamentalism but I
don't see how that applies to your previos points. Is there a connection? If
so, can you cite your sources of information that support the position that the
war on terror is rooted in Christian fundamentalism?
