I regret that my interest in the clarinet has been interrupted by courageous
clarinetists
interjecting their political opinions of the day. What's next, economic
discussions? Favorite dog? Clarinet personal ads? (not a bad idea)

Don't you journalism wannabees have a private email address where you can
voice your most important comments privately without contaminating the
klarinet@-----.org airways? Here's a template you can use in case you're
not creative:

"Hi there! I'd like to contact you and discuss my bold and well-thought
out, anti-Bush sentiments privately. May I email you off the Klarinet
list?" I'm sure no one would object. (But I'll soon see!)

Personally, I never voted Republican and I loved Bill Clinton. Even when I
saw all the people falling (without parachutes) into the street when the
World Trade Center collapsed, I must confess that I felt a mild distress,
but thankfully it didn't last too long (I drank a little pepto-bismol.). By
the end of the day (9/11), after the other alleged hijackings took place, I
thought, "How unfair! Where's the positive energy in that?" But after
studying the excellent philosopher/columnists at the NY & LA Times, I
realized the Bush Cabal must be at work here! The evil do-ers. They don't
play well with others. They stole the election! That's why the other
countries don't like us. We don't play well with others. Any country would
do better at playing with others than the USA if they were the number #1
economic and military power. France, for example! The French government is
known for its kindness and playing spirit (Ask any of their former colonies!
Or Germany. Saudi Arabia? Iran? Please, oh foreign nation or United
Nations, come rescue me from my pitiful existence here in the United States
of America living under the yoke of Bush, Cheney, and Ashcroft. Ironically,
I don't understand all the people clammoring to get into this country.
Don't they enjoy the fruits of their own, native lands?

Would it be too much to say that had Bill Clinton or Al Gore been President
of the United States of America, Al-Queda and Moslem Terrorism would
probably not have occured. Bush invented it, promulgated it, funded it
(He's friends with the Saudis, right?) and now he's blaming every Moslem or
at least the so-called Moslem Fundamentalists (What % of the Moslems is that
anyway? I haven't seen any Moslem street or campus demonstrations
protesting Al-Queda or Wahabism, etc. They're very vocal in other regards.
Why so silent now? Fraid? Shy?
Timid? Come on out of your shells, Oh Moslems! Let me hear thy cry against
beheading!
Speak out in this free country of ours!

I know only one thing in my own ever-so-unhumble way. I grew up in this
country. In kindergarten I was singing, "America the Beautiful." I heard
Ray Charles recording of it the other day. If you don't feel something when
you hear that, you should live somewhere "better". But I feel that we're at
war or may I say we're involved in a certain level of skullduggery, and the
1960s/beat generation/hippie/birthcontrol revolution, FREEDOM! etc., etc. is
over for the time being and maybe forever. Kaput! Learn it. Deal with it
July 4th is coming and the conventions are coming. Don't you have a few
worries about taking a plane somewhere.
No, perhaps I'm just a little skittish and need to relax. Think positive.
It's all about being in the NOW!

In closing, dear friends, who knows what lies in store for us in this great
nation of only 200+ years. I don't envy anyone who is President at this
time. Does it help or hurt us to criticize our leader as if he were some
dumb schmuck who is only out for himself? He has enough money and it seems
he most happy at his ranch pulling weeds. Aren't we all? Wise-up. This is
a war not of our choosing. The day might not be far off when you'll be
beheaded with your imported German ligature twine by a Koran carrying
nightmare. So to those who criticize the leader of the US, like him or not,
F-You!! Allah Akbar!
