Why stop there? Remember the Flann O'Brien book-personalizing
service
(which had a scale of charges for inscriptions ranging from a
simple forged
signature to to the most servile flattery) and put something like
'To Dave,
who taught me all I know, and without whose wisdom, compassion
[etc.] this
book would not have been possible.'
