There are some practice methods you can use other than sheer repetition
(or, I should say, in addition to the repetition). It's important to
practice tricky passages slowly as well as quickly. In fact, if you
only practice at speeds where you're not quite accurate, you will be
teaching yourself to play inaccurately. Starting with a metronome set
to a slow speed and then increasing the speed only one notch at a time
works well.

Also, you can vary the rhythmic pattern. Instead of four eighth notes,
play the pattern as a pair of dotted eighth/sixteenths, and as a pair
of sixteenths/dotted eighths. This helps you isolate the spots where
you're not moving your fingers quite right.

Good exercises include the Kroepsch Progressive Daily Studies.
There are also fingering exercises in the Rubank Advanced Method,
if I remember correctly.

And, for going over the break, don't forget that it's not just a matter
of fingers. You also have to keep the air going and don't tighten up
your throat.
