Steve... What year were those made?

Buffets, as most clarinets do, typically need overhauls every few years or
so. An instrument played regularly is going to need an overhaul at least
every 2 or 3 years. Mine made it all the way through from 11th grade in High
School until I am graduating college this year with only needing one or two
pads replaced.

An overhaul on your clarinet will cost you around $200. That's a lot cheaper
than having to buy yourself a new one, and you'll still get to play an
instrument you're used to.

Also, within the last 10 years the quality of the instruments, new, are
going down. Older instruments have better craftsmanship and are, in truth,
mostly better sounding then newer ones.

I'd say go for the overhaul. It'll save you money and your instrument will
be in tip top shape- and probably sound better too!
