Heh! I still remember the clerk who personally opened a box and held
each reed up to the light and bent the tip of each reed and finally
selected the 2 or 3 reeds for me that were 'best', until I finally broke
down and said "Give me the whole box!"

My teacher at the time grinned and said absolutely nothing.
