It surprises me that someone who represents the financial interests of
writers & performers would dismiss a copyright violation so casually.

Admittedly the article in question probably earned (or could earn) less
money than (say) a Stephen King novel or a Chris Carter script, but are
you saying that this particular writer doesn't deserve the same
protection as other authors because his (her?) words were, in your
judgement, less significant or less valuable?
