When Anne Lenoir showed me how to do the gliss, she did it without ANY
fingers. I have been practicing all day long and am getting pretty good at
doing this thing with no fingers too. It's a good way to learn to make
some very useful sounds (noises) and to learn to control the airflow
through the clarinet. I found it easiest to gliss down first and then up
after I could control going down really well. I still don't understand why
all this works the way it does, but I will probably be able to figure it
out as I get better at doing the gliss on demand.
