Given that he misspells "Ross" as "Russ," has the year wrong, and claims=20
that the premiere performance was recorded (quite impossible in the 1924=20
acoustic recording era) I would take the page as somewhat less than=20
authoritative. A recording of an abridged (so it would fit on two sides of=
=20
a 78 rpm record) version of the Rhapsody WAS made on June 10, 1924, with=20
the original orchestra virtually intact. I have an LP transcription of=20
that recording. I've heard better versions of the opening, particularly as=
=20
Gorman's gets quite corny later in the solo.
