I had a similar problem to you a while back. A change of mouthpiece
turned out to be the "magic ingredient"---literally magic, as I was able
to go from bending with difficulty to bending quite large intervals. So
it might be an idea to test out a variety of different mouthpieces with
different facings---e.g. go to a shop and play their Vandorens to death,
find one that lets you do glisses more easily, and then go about finding
a mouthpiece with a similar facing that gives you the best sound as well.
