He's a very good Danish clarinet player, who used to be the principal
clarinet in the Odense Symphony Orchestra for many years. He also used to
play in a trio with a pianist ex-colleague of mine called Rosalind Bevan, and
commissioned for them (for example) the Gorecki trio for clarinet, 'cello and
piano.

I haven't been in touch with him for some years; but I always remembered that
bit of advice about legato, and often share it, even though I myself usually
approach the matter differently to begin with.
