Mouthpieces are buffed all the time, to remove scratches, etc. However, you
NEVER touch the facing - the tip rail or the side rails, and never buff inside
the window of the mouthpiece unless you are very very sure what you are doing.
As Karl says, buffing will round the edges, exactly what you do not want to
happen!
