Generally Buffing can cause problems if done on the actual rails and
facing...there is also a danger of warping the lay of the mouthpiece. This
is a very bad proposition if this is your only piece, or it is favorite.

Harold Wright simply kept a bit of amour all about and it seemed to maintain
a fairly tolerable greenish quality on his old Chedeville. He was very
careful about the rails no matter what..in this area he was very careful.
Clarinet players today also seem forget how important the mouthpiece cap is
when your not playing...
