Harold -

Pardon me for being picky, but I believe that the term is "hiatal hernia'.
The term "hiatus" (coming from the same root) is defined in general use as
"an opening; a gap; esp., a break with a part missing." Most symphony
orchestras are on "hiatus" for the summer.

Regards,

Gene N.

I wonder if anyone out there can offer experience / advice of how the
acquisition of a haitus hernia condition can affect ones clarinet / sax
playing... I have recently become the reluctant owner of the above condition
and worry what ramifications are involving daiphragm pressure, throat etc.
I would dearly like to hear advice from any fellow players who may have
encounterd this kind of problem. .
