Bryan,

Have you tried ANY of Walter Grabner's mouthpieces? If not, run, don't
walk *G*
Seriously. I have one of his earlier ones and it was love at first play
- well, close to it, anyhow. Since then, from all the feed back that
has been written by other players on this list, Walter's work has only
gotten better and better.

http://www.clarinetxpress.com is Walter's business website. Contact him
and talk to him, let him know your specs, what you are looking at, what
has worked best for you in the past, or that you simply want to play on
a number of different facings, see what works best for you.

IIRC, I believe David Niethamer plays on one of Walter's mouthpieces, or
did so recently. David, you out there?

I have been more than happy, and plan to get another mouthpiece from
Walter, as well as a custom barrel for my Buffet A when I send that to
be overhauled (when I can afford to do that) IF I do not buy a new A
clarinet.

Good Luck, and let us know how this round of Mouthpiece Roulette goes
for you.

Patricia Smith
