Position Announcement
Visiting Assistant Professor of Music - Clarinet
(Full-time, one-year position for the 2004-05 academic year)

Responsibilities:

* Teach studio clarinet and related course work (literature of the
applied, pedagogy of the applied, clarinet ensemble)
* Teach in one or more of the following secondary areas (band, music
management, music technology, theory).
* Maintain an active performance schedule (including Woodwind Quintet).
* Additional responsibilities will include academic advising, service on
departmental and university committees as appropriate, recruitment of
prospective students, and other appropriate responsibilities as
assigned.

Qualifications:

Doctorate or ABD preferred; MM required. University level teaching
experience desirable.

The University of Evansville is an independent, church-related,
selective admissions university located in a growing metropolitan
community of more than 300,000 in southwestern Indiana. It offers a
comprehensive program of instruction including liberal arts and
sciences, engineering, business, nursing, physical therapy and
education. Enrollment numbers approximately 2,500 full-time students.
The Department of Music currently has 120 undergraduate music majors
with degree programs in Music Education, Music Therapy, Music
Management, Performance, and General Studies (Bachelor of Arts).
Instruction on every major instrument and voice is provided by 18
full-time and 13 part-time instructors. The University includes a
campus in Grantham England, Harlaxton College. Evansville is also the
home of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, a highly regarded

Rank and Salary:

Visiting Assistant Professor (non-tenure track). Salary based on
qualifications and experience.
