I've decided to take an audition for the first time in over a decade.
Unfortunately, I no longer live in a major metropolitan area, but way
out rural, and I no longer have people/institutions from which to borrow
bass/Eb instruments.

The only shop I know well (I live in the Northeast US) is Rayburn in
Boston, and they haven't returned my calls asking about renting these
beasts. The audition is close enough that with careful timing I could
get instruments from WWBW and return them, though that feels somewhat
underhanded. I only have enough credit to get good student-quality
instruments, but the player is the bigger concern :).

Any suggestions? Thanks.
