I SO identify with this remark. Over the years, I have made refinements,
changes of equipment, took lessons, listened critically....but was never truly
happy with how I sounded.

One of the reasons I took up mouthpiece work was to find solutions that
worked for me. Then I took up barrel work, then I did my own
repairs...then......and so it goes.

Only recently have I really been able to consistently achieve a tone - a
living sound - that I am, at least, satisfied with.

To do so, I had to mentally cut myself loose from so much of the
"conventional wisdom" that has been handed down to us over the years, and...as Tony
constantly advises...experiment to find solutions that really work.
