I am not a doctor, but I think what is meant is lifting and stretching the
soft palate right at the back of the top of the mouth. In "The Art of
Clarinet Playing" Keith Stein relates how he discovered how to do this by
learning to yawn with his mouth closed. That certainly works for me.

I've had this on occasions, and I think it might be a little acid reflux from
the stomach. If so, a heartburn remedy might clear it up. But once again, I
am *not* a doctor.
