It happens that yesterday I bought a large set of 'vintage' Count Basie
recordings which includes Basie's "Kansas City Seven". Combining the
album notes with Ed Lacy's comment and with several Internet
articles....

The photo may be the saxophonist Lester Young, playing clarinet for a
moment.
