Thanks for the suggestions.

I don't think it's Marsala. The 1985 edition of John Chilton's Who's Who of
Jazz has a 1939 photo of Marsala in action. He seems to puff out his cheeks
when playing (tut!), which the mystery man doesn't, and he doesn't wear
specs, which the mystery man does (though they're not very clear on the web
site).

Tony Parenti seems a better bet. He seems rather fuller faced in the
(later) photo in Chilton, but I wouldn't rule him out.

Any other ideas?
