Good comments; it comes down to semantics I guess, but the "Charact of the Sound" was just what I like and hard to put into words (ie try to describe the color red to someone who is blind and has never seen it).
Anyway, the other "character of sound" that I like after our Greek one is Bob Helm's as he played with Turk Murphy on those San Francisco West Coast Jazz recordings of 50 years ago. There was another "different" sounding "character of sound" as you call it.
I have even read that the shape of a guitarist's body and fingers changes the "character of sound" of the guitar. Just think what all the factors of our bodies do to the "character of sound" of the "klarino!"
