The CD that comes with this book is useful for ear training. I think I
bought this book+CD on your recommendation, and I'm glad that I did.

The person who posted the original request mentioned that he doesn't
want a text that explains such 'basic' things as note durations. This
book does so (among the many other items in its 450+ pages); but the
explanations of note durations include exercises in clapping them
precisely, which is more useful than merely learning the notations.
