I played it for my junior recital... The intro has nothing to do with
the rest of the piece, the theme is based on a rossini opera, and the
variations on the theme, of course. I heard Rossini didn't even write
the adaptation for clarinet, rather someone just took the themes from
his work and claimed it to be rossini. This could be true, considering I
found NO clarinet music by rossini in any music discography or listning
of works by rossini. Interesting.
