Subj: [kl] What's wrong with using "dark" or "bright" to describe tone quality?
Date: Thu, 6 May 2004 18:01:44 -0400

I hear the word "color" ("colour" for our friends across the Atlantic :-) used
to describe different ways of sounding/voicing/playing the same note. "Dark"
and "bright" are certainly qualifiers used to describe color. So... why frown
on the use of "dark" or "bright" in describing tone?

Regards,

Andy
