Try gigmasters.com

Also google in "call for musicians" or "call for artists" and look for arts
festivals or bananza's or whatever that are looking for groups to play.

The best option, however - how you'll more than likely score something...
You make a demo CD, send it everywhere you want to get booked along with
your rates, brief history/bio of your group, maybe some quotes from critics
or fans. If your group is good, they'll get back to you... may take a
month... may take a whole year, especially for a recital series or midday
music series at a church or something. They plan those things a year in
advance at least.

Well... that's the nature of the business. A music venues purpose is to fill
its seats and make the money off of ticket sales. YOU are just the lure.
Don't be fooled by the whole idea they'll give you that a music venue's sole
purpose is to bring good music to the area. If that were the case, they
either wouldn't charge, or they would give you adequate payback.

Cheapest places to play are churches. Some will let you play in them for
free if not for a reaaally cheap rate. For free venues, a Thank-you goes as
looooooooooooooong way if you ever want to use it again.

If you don't charge admission, be sure to ask for donations at the
conclusion of the concert AND have some volunteers at the door to
*politely* ask for donations on the way out. I don't mean people to just
stand there with hats... I mean they need to be almost blocking the door and
ASK the people on the way out. The extra nudge by a real person will more
than likely score a donation as opposed to having some anonymous drop box
that people will just walk by without a second thought. That'll get you some
extra money... And don't feel bad about seeming like a nag. You shouldn't
have to feel bad after just entertaining them for free!

If you really want to start raking it in, get mass production of your demo
CD or make a full CD and sell them after every concert or recital you do.
That takes a little more legal work, but it's an option.
