This is interesting. Though I snipped for space, as always, I read all
your remarks with interest, Karl.

Do you get prep time as well, or no? What age level do you teach? Also,
I'm interested in what classes you teach: are you teaching general
music, or elementary band or woodwinds? If you'd like, you may e-mail
me offlist, since this is a bit off topic. I'm very interested to read
about your experiences and what your work involves, as well as how you
teach theory and history in private lessons. (Anything I can learn to
improve I am willing to do! :D)

I was fortunate enough to interview about a month ago for a general
music position that, among other things, offered an entire half day for
ALL teachers to do prep work, including the music and art teacher. The
down side is, that I'd be doing music on a cart. The positive side is
that I could design my own program. Biggest negative: I need to recertify!
