To be sure, fear is a great motivator. It's hard to tell sometimes
whether I'm working on something because I take pride in my playing or
because I don't want to be embarrassed. Maybe there's not really any
difference.
Just imagine that any time you make a mistake -- even in the densest
tutti -- the entire orchestra stops and turns around to stare at you.
And your clothes have somehow suddenly disappeared. I'm sure some of us
need MORE performance anxiety! >;}
