ABRSM examiners also travel around the world to examine students. They
visit the San Francisco Bay Area twice a year, along with other parts of
the US. (I don't have information about other locations.) My wife (harp
teacher) offers her students the option of preparing her students for these
exams and a small minority choose to do so. In general, the main custom
for these examiners appears to come from students whose parents hail from
parts of the world that have some kind of British-influenced educational
system (Hong Kong, for instance), so they are probably offered in
locations, like SF, that have larger numbers of such students.

My wife inherited the practice from her former teacher who started it, I
believe, to accommodate the requests of some of her students' parents.

I would infer from the lack of mention of this so far, that the
availability of these exams in the US is not widely known.
