Dunno...but it's interesting there are four bids by two people, one with a
feedback of 1, the other with 8...so after a couple of past potential
screwball things like this I've known of on eBay, could be someone is
playing around, or trying to establish a reputation. At $14,000, it had
better be a "Dyna-Mite" Tone clarinet. I have an old Bundy I could get
$13,000 for, it's not quite up to $14,000, it needs a few pads replaced...

Maybe it once belonged to Jimmy Hoffa?

And just to add to the subject of nutty clarinet stuff - I was in our local
music/CD/movie store yesterday. I spotted a CD collection of Benny Goodman's
Greatest Hits that came from a company in the UK - and it had a publicity
photo of Steve Allen portraying Benny on the front. A young man across from
me saw me snort and then laugh and asked "What's up, man?"
I showed him the CD and asked "Can you see what's wrong with this picture?"
Silly me.
He smiled and said "It isn't Benny Goodman, it's that dude that played him
in a movie once."
Turns out the young fellow is the son of an old friend from my local
All-County band days in the clarinet section. So the next time you see a kid
sporting the 'goth' look...don't understimate them...turns out as well that
he follows in his dad's love of big band music and bebop. He wants to hook
up with my seventeen-year-old son who's a jazz-loving bass player, so they
can jam and talk about us old guys.
