...Matthew, I should've added two points that are probably obvious:

(1) Use *white* vinegar in order that you don't leave an oil film behind
which, will interfere with the Sterisol (the Sterisol label instructs
you to rinse all soap off the mouthpiece as well, for the same reason).

(2) Rinse the mouthpiece thoroughly after soaking in Sterisol, because
it's a strong disinfectant. The label says that it contains (among
other things) ammonium chloride.
