My experience with the Brannens was generally good. Somewhere in between
the experience others have posted about recently.

I sent my Opus Bb clarinet to them in November for a complete overhaul.
Here are some details about my experience:

- The clarinet was completed and shipped when they said it would.

- They were very professional and courteous. I was sure they were going
to say something about my homemade quick-fixes (I recall people on the
Klarinet list mentioning this), but they didn't say a word.

- They asked me to make a list of everything I was having problems with.
Everything on that list was fixed including the repad, adjustment of flat
throat tones, and removal of excessive play in the left-hand pinky keys.

- Some things I didn't mention on the list were glossed over. Tiny
things. For example, they did not replace the missing corks on the bottom
of the trill keys (so they're real noisy when depressed).

So overall, they worked miracles on the "big" stuff (the horn played
better by far than when I purchased it). But they seemed to gloss over
some of the little things I would expect to be taken care of anyway in a
full overhaul.

Would I recommend them? Absolutely. Just make sure you're very thorough
with your problems list :)
